Writing Poem

Khmer Literacy-round 1

There are five terms each year. For this term, we have focused a lot on writing a poem. There are many different types of Khmer poem. For me, I choose to write a poem with the កាកគតី type. I wrote the emotional poem about the kids in Steung Meanchey Dump. I think that the emotional poem most likely matches with the កាកគតី type, so that’s why I choose to write with that type. The figure below is the poem that I wrote

                                                                      ជិវិតខ្ងុំ

គំនរសំរាម                                     គឺជាស្លាកស្នាម                              ជាប់ដាមជីវិត

ទោះខ្ងុំវេទនា                                 កំព្រាមែនពិត                              ស្មោះស្ម័គ្រនែបនិត

                                                        និងម្ដាយមាសមុំ។

ឱកាំវាសនា                                   ពិតឥតមេត្តា                                     ចាឲ្យរូបខ្ញុំ

រស់មិនបានសុខ                         ទឹកមុខក្រៀមក្រំ                                  នៅក្នុងសង្ពម

                                                          លើភ្នំសំរាម។

ក្នុងចិត្តឈឺអួល                            អារម្មណ៍ក្ដុកក្ដួល                                បេះដូងជាប់ឡាម

ពេលឭពាក្យថា                             មាតាមិនបាន                                  រស់នៅក្បែរប្រាណ

                                                          តទៅមុខទៀត។

Community Travelling Theater

Exploration round 1

This is my third years studying in Liger. My first exploration of this third year is called the Community Travelling Theater. It is one of the biggest projects in Liger. We are going to create a Theater from a truck and we will make some changes to make it more like a Theater. It will look like a normal theater, but one special thing about it is that it can move to anywhere we want. The purpose of doing this is to help the people in rural areas that never seen a play or a performance to see. Many theaters in Cambodia doesn’t move, so the people who live in rural areas do not have a chance to watch a play. That causes to think of an idea of creating a community traveling theater because it could go to anywhere on earth and it is really helpful. It is helpful because we can use it to keep supplies, stuff, travel, and perform. People can also gain educational knowledge from our play, too. Since now we don’t have enough money to buy a truck, so we decided to find money in the Crowdfunding. We are making a video of us working when we were on the trip, interviewing people around the village, set up the play, perform and etc. We also include the people feeling about the play and feeling about the Truck that we are going to make. For example “How do they feel, if we make a Truck Theater and perform a play in their village?”.  We hope to have this truck finish as soon as possible.

Adobe Software

Computer Science and Multimedia-round 1 

There are five essentials total. Computer Science and Multimedia is one of those essentials. For the first week of this essential, I have learned about the Researching skills. This topic taught me to become a good researcher. The teacher has taught me a lot about the Researching Skills such as, how do we research, why do we research, what is research and the main goals of doing research. Our teacher, Cindy also teach us about the three methods of a good researcher.

She has told us that before we research, we have to list down as many questions as we wondered. The questions must be related to the topic that we want to research.

 

This is the second method that we could use to help us.

 

And this is the third method. I think that this method is really helpful for the researcher.

For another week, I have learned how to use the Adobe app. In the Adobe, we have focused on the InDesign, Photoshop and the Lightroom Classic. In class, our teacher has given an opportunity to those who are really good and know how to use those three things to explain the whole classmates. I really appreciate to those who were teaching and explaining to others student. They explain really well, so I understand a lot. I understand a lot about using the InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom. I studied the Photoshop on my own because I was on a trip while they were studying about the Lightroom. In my opinion, I think that the Photoshop and the Lightroom are really useful for people. The picture below is an example of I have done with the Indesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom.

Matter

Stem-round 1

STEAM is the first essential that I have. It starts from 11:10 am to 12:10pm. From Monday to Friday except for Wednesday, we all have an hour in each essential. STEM is one of my most favorite classes. In STEM of this term, I have learned about Matter and Atoms. We spent a little bit longer on Matter because it was complicated to understand and also confusing. I was really confused when we talked about mass and weight in Matter. First, I think that mass and weight are the same, but when I start to read more about it, I start to get more ideas about what are the differences between them. As what I learn and what I know, Mass is a measurement of the amount of matter something contains and Matter is a measurement of the pull of gravity on an object. Not just reading can help me understand, but because we have a good teacher, who is really good at explaining to students and make students felt happy and fun, so I understand about the topic really well. In class, he didn’t just talk and talk and talk instead, he gave us some games to play that are related to the topic we are learning.

A Beautiful Poster

Math-round 1 

There are 15 students including me in the 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Math class.

              I really love learning Math.

This term, I have learned a lot about the Whole Numbers, More Calculation With the Whole Number, Fractions and Multiply and Divide Fractions. These are the topic that I like to do the most. When I have free time, I always work on it and spend some time learning some new vocabulary in English that is related to Math.  I have made a poster about inspiring people to study hard by a quote called “Make the most of your learning”. The picture below is the art that me and my partner made. All of this art is all representing studying, quotes about life and the benefits of trying hard. The figure below is a poster that I did.

Hello, my lovely and beloved reader who is reading my blog

             I am Ena Im (Ena). I study at the Liger Leadership Academy (LLA). It is a school that educates the promising youth of today to develop socially conscious, entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow. Before I came to Liger, I studied at the government school in Tboung Khmum province, which is the newest province that was created by splitting from Kampong Cham province in 2014. Most of Cambodian are Buddhist, but my whole family is Christianity. My Mother is a housewife. She is not just a housewife, but she is my hero. I believe in love at first Sight, because I love my mom since I opened my eyes. My father is a farmer. He gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me. I think that I am so lucky that I was born in the family that is full of happiness. To me, my family is not just an important thing, it’s everything.

              People think that I am so talkative, but behind that, I am a little bit emotional at some point. In school, there are different types of subject, but I love learning all of those. Even though there are some subjects that I am not really good at, but I still love them. One of my favorite exploration that I love the most is called the Robotic exploration. In this Robotic exploration, I think that I am good at designing the robot and make the robot looks cool. In this Robotic exploration, I think that I am good at designing the robot and make the robot looks cool. In my free time, I like listening to music. In my school, I am the only student that is Christianity in the Junior Cohort, but I never think that I am different, because we are all humans! For me, I think that I’m good at making people laugh and inventing something strange or crazy (Creative Stuff), but the two things that I am afraid of doing and cannot really do are Doing the public speaking and controlling my feelings. From now on, I will be stronger and I believe that the goals that I have set for my life will be achieved by me working hard. I also have God who always helps me when I am facing any big problems and with my Determination, God will help me to be successful in this life.
